Here are the general directions for using the PACnCAP capsule holder:
Preparation:
Ensure your work surface is clean to avoid contamination.
Have your empty capsules and filling material ready.
Washing hands and or wearing gloves is always recommended.
Loading a Capsule:
Take an empty capsule and separate it into two halves; bottom & cap.
Place the bottom half of the capsule (the part you fill) into the end of the PACnCAP tool where the holder is designed to secure it. Ensure it's snug and stable.
Place the cap half of the capsule on the nub of plastic on top of the handle.
*The PACnCAP tool & capsule halves may now be tare’d on a scale to measure fill weights.
Filling the Capsule:
Use the PACnCAP tool to scoop your filling material (powder, granules, etc.) into the capsule half that's held at the end of the tool. *The capsules content measurements are now evident.
Fill to the desired level, or weight but avoid overfilling as this can make capping difficult.
Overpacking may cause the capsule to swell and force removal after encapsulation.
Capping the Capsule:
With the filled capsule body still in the holder, use the PacnCap to align the cap (from the handle) with the filled capsule half.
Gently press down to secure the cap onto the filled capsule. The PACnCAP's design should allow for a precise alignment to ensure proper capping.
Finishing Up:
Once capped, remove the capsule from the end of the PACnCAP.
Inspect the capsule to ensure it's sealed properly. If not, you might need to repeat the capping process.
Cleaning:
After use, clean the PACnCAP tool with warm water and mild soap, keep dry for future use.
Simply blow away any remaining dust and replace in tube packaging to reduce debris.
Storage:
Store the PACnCAP in a clean, dry place to prevent any contamination for future use.
Reuse the packaging tube to reduce contamination or damage to the tool.
Important Tips:
- Always handle capsules with clean hands or gloves to avoid contamination.
- If you're filling capsules with medication or supplements, follow specific guidelines provided by a healthcare professional or the product instructions for correct dosage and handling.
- If you're new to capsule filling, it might take a few tries to get comfortable with the process. Practice with some empty capsules first if needed.
